Welcome to my blog! I am 47, happily married for almost 24 years to my high school sweetheart, and have 3 beautiful daughters who are 21, 20 & 17. I am also a 3 year Breast Cancer Survivor who is grateful to be alive.
Check out my Etsy shop that I opened a little over a year ago at www.lemondropknits.etsy.com. At first I simply tried it out to see if any of my knit items would sell and was pleasantly surprised when they did! Last year the knit flower headband that buttons in the back and has a bohemian flair was all the rage, and I sold quite a few of them. It was great to have a place to showcase and sell my knits at long last. Afterall, how many afghans can you make and/or store for your family and friends?
I began checking out all the other wonderful shops on Etsy and have become almost as addicted to it as I am to yarn. There is so much talent, and so many creative ideas on this site! I noticed that knits aren't as popular during the warmer months, so I added vintage rings to my shop and have learned quite a bit about them as well.
Also, I have ventured into sewn accessories such as handbags along the way, and am just now getting a new line of wedding items added to my site such as garter sets and ring bearer pillows.
I always keep at least a couple of "pink" items in my shop that I take 10% of the price of the item and put it aside for my participation in the 3-day Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. When I have enough to cover my costs, I will participate that year. I prefer this approach to gathering sponsors from my family and friends--even if it will take me longer to do it this way.
I have a pet sitting service that I have had for the past 5 or so years around my neighborhood here in Orange County, California. It also brings me much joy! :) I have had some of my clients since they were puppies or kittens & even got to unexpectedly deliver a litter of cocker spaniels while the dog's owners were on vacation.
I am a born again believer and came to know Jesus as my savior at 10.
